KANNADA
SANGHA PATRON PROGRAM DETAILS
Thanks to all our
patrons!!
Its
important to have many more patrons come forward to sustain our culture
in this land. Some cultures just die away after one or two generations
unless there is a strong support base. Sometimes it pains to
see
that lot of second and third generation kannadigas dont know how to
speak kannada. In order to come up with programs to help
sustain
this great culture/language we need a strong cash position.
Here are a few ideas that we have that can help maintain our language
and culture through the generations to come :
1) To
provide a one time cash reward to all AKS member kids who can pass a
basic kannada reading and writing test. If we get enough funds, we can
make this very lucrative for the kids and also make sure that kannada
lives through them. It would also help in bringing "Kannada Kali"
program back to life.
2)
To organize regular AKS sponsored kannada workshops in the Austin hindu
temple where a qualified kannada scholar can guide us through the vast
kannada litreature and also give more inputs on kannada culture.
3) To have a mobile library of sorts with important kannada books, DVDs
etc.
Think about the above ideas and support us in achieving them!
Austin
Kannada
Sanghada Sadasyare,
We are very happy to announce the new "Kannada Sangha Patron" program.
This program gives you an opportunity as individuals to patronize
Kannada language and culture in Austin. This is an excellent
opportunity for you to show the community that you and your family care
about Kannada language, art and culture. (Kereya Neeranu Kerege chelli)
Consider this an opportunity to help your community to promote Kannada
culture in Austin. In a year that is characterized by economic
uncertainty and uncertain advertisement revenue, your support for this
program is greatly appreciated.
Benefits:
- As
a Patron you get to display an appropriate photo (family) of your
choice and 20 words in the Sampige magazine printed 2
times a year.
- 1
Year Membership
included.
- 2
AKS T-shirts worth $8
each.
- Two
free tickets for
Ugadi and Diwali events for that year(Movie tickets not included).
You can become a Kannada Sangha Patron with a donation of $150.
